Writing
Not every idea begins as an academic paper.
Many questions first emerge through essays, public reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue before eventually becoming part of more formal research. Writing therefore plays an essential role within my broader research programme: it provides a space where complex ideas can be explored, tested and discussed beyond the conventions of academic publishing.
The texts presented here are intended for readers interested in the intersection of law, cognitive science, philosophy, behavioural science, artificial intelligence and institutional design. Although written for a broader audience, they remain closely connected to the same research questions that inform my scholarly work.
Intersecções
Intersecções is an ongoing essay series published in Página UM exploring how contemporary scientific knowledge intersects with law, institutions and public life.
Rather than commenting on current events, each essay uses a concrete problem as a starting point for examining broader questions about evidence, human behaviour, decision-making, institutional design and democratic society.
Reasonable Doubt
Reasonable Doubt is an independent platform for long-form essays and interdisciplinary reflection.
The project provides a space for developing ideas that extend beyond the structure of academic articles while maintaining the same commitment to analytical clarity, conceptual precision and intellectual openness. Many of the themes explored here later inform broader research projects and academic publications.

An exploration of how judges, prosecutors and lawyers remain subject to the same cognitive architecture that shapes all human reasoning. Drawing on cognitive science and behavioural research, the essay examines the implications of this shared cognitive condition for legal reasoning, institutional design and the administration of justice.
